The ST OUEN Butcher Block “Le” Cart occupies a category of its own. Its thick, end-grain hornbeam slab rests proudly atop the structure—a deliberate elevation that evokes the gravity of a true butcher's block, while maintaining the mobility and lightness of a service cart. It is a piece that takes its work seriously and its aesthetic lightly.

Beneath the block, a soft-close drawer keeps essential tools within reach. An optional second drawer at the back transforms the piece into a double-sided mini island, making it as functional in the center of a room as it is against a wall. On casters, it rolls from the prep station to the dining room without ceremony; a fixed-leg version at the same height is available for those who prefer a permanent installation.

Crafted in solid and veneered oak with a solid end-grain hornbeam top—no quartz, just the honest resilience of wood chosen for its density and self-healing properties—“Le” Butcher Block embodies the conviction that the most beautiful materials need no embellishment. Available in a selection of De Kercoet finishes, or customized to your color upon request, and brushed brass or polished stainless steel hardware completes the piece.

At 90 × 60 × 91 cm, it occupies the exact same footprint as the ST OUEN Sideboard but with a fundamentally different character: where the Sideboard offers a choice of surfaces, “Le Butcher Block” is fully committed to wood. A towel rail and bespoke options are available upon request.

Care and maintenance instructions

Wooden body Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products.
End grain wood surface Oil regularly with food-grade mineral oil. Wipe off excess moisture after use; avoid prolonged contact with water.
Metal Gently polish brass or stainless steel with a non-abrasive cloth.
General maintenance Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and excess moisture.
